Job Description

As the successful candidate you will contribute to the overall success of the site, you will report directly to the site Senior Management Accountant responsible for delivering Management Information to the General Manager, Operations team, Finance and the Board. You will be responsible for the production of daily, weekly and monthly finance reporting to a review level.

Key accountabilities 

  • Production of the weekly costings for a number of operations run from our customer-focused sites
  • Preparation of Management Accounts including posting journals
  • Investigation and explanation of variances in the Management Accounts
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Invoice and credit control customers and update the Company cash forecast
  • Raise purchase orders, as requested from site
  • Review supplier invoices against their purchase orders and assist in the authorisation process
  • Assist with the annual budget process
  • Assist with quarterly forecasting
  • Provide financial data for the annual audit
  • Collate and issue various internal reporting
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Part qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Experience of working in a similar industry is an advantage
  • Highly proficient in using IT, including MS Office and accounts software
  • Excel is a key management information tool, a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and analysis of data is essential
  • Experienced in accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income deferral
  • Good communicator at all levels including, operational warehouse and transport managers and staff, customers, suppliers and other internal staff
  • Good team-player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and meet deadlines set
  • Inquisitive in nature with the ability to take initiative, looking for constant development and improvement of procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy
