Morgan McLernon specialise in frozen, chilled and ambient storage, frozen and chilled distribution and also blast freezing. 

As a Transport Coordinator you will effectively maintain the transport operation and day to day business as well as observing company process and procedures within the Transport team.

The Transport Coordinator will operate and deliver the transport service based on the plan provided and will act as a key point of contact for all Day-to-Day transport activities. 

Job Description

What we offer: 

Shift: 4 on 4 off - Nights    8 pm - 6 am

Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 pa 

The Transport Coordinator will be responsible for: 

  • Brief and Debrief Drivers at the start and end of shift
  • Collate PODs and check for correct counts and discrepancies, manage returns with Customer Services
  • Liaise with Customers regarding delivery and ETA through the TMS
  • Follow the Transport Plan Daily, adapting and making changes to suit the business needs
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions and additional shifts
  • Collect, update and maintain Transport data any providing weekly metrics
  • Follow the process and procedure for all accidents, incidents, near misses, defects, services and MOT’s
  • Maintaining good morale, reporting any driver’s issues or concerns to management. Communicating any operational changes that may affect a driver’s daily duties
  • Compliance with company and local statutory obligations regarding working time legislation, operator licensing, Health & Safety and quality.
  • When required, to ensure flexibility within the department to cover colleague’s tasks during times of holidays & absence.
  • Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members
  • Ensure drivers hours regulations and working time directive legislation are adhered to

Qualifications

 Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous Transport experience
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
  • CPC National desirable but not essential
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills with ability to influence and steer
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages
  • Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines
  • Customer service driven
