Job Description

Part of the Culina Group, Culina Logistics – market leader in UK chilled shared user logistics are looking for an experience Warehouse Operations Manager to join the team at our Tilbury site.

Joining us a Warehouse Operations Manager you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the warehousing functions, whilst maintaining and improving performance levels both in terms of service and financial control.

Key Duties:

  • Leading, motivating and engaging Warehouse Operatives through a team of Shift Managers and Team Leaders
  • Effectively deploying a complex set of resources to flow weekly volumes of approximately 1.2 million cases to a demanding timetable
  • Efficiently and timely deploying resources to match service levels within an agreed budget
  • Ensure that all requirements of the Health, Safety & Environment policies and standards are met by the depot through influencing and supporting the depot management team.
  • Agreeing a set of continuous improvement projects and managing their implementation
  • Managing and maintaining site facilities
  • Timely recruiting and selecting agency and permanent operatives
  • Lead on employee engagement and retention
  • Managing the process for ensuring compliance on key internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • A demonstrable background managing a fast paced warehouse operation
  • An broad understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • An ability to operate in a range of situations from the shop floor to client reviews
  • An understanding of engagement and motivational tools and techniques
  • Have an understanding of the key cost drivers within a business and how to affect them
  • Has the ability to run small projects independently
  • Can take a decision based on limited information
  • Drive improvement to Health and Safety culture
  • Experience in reviewing and driving KPI targets
  • Has the ability to work with a site management team in order to achieve wider business goals that may be detrimental to the warehouse department
  • Numerate, analytical and PC literate, strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Employee engagement/cultural improvements
