We are currently recruiting for a Site Maintenance Technician on a full time, permanent basis at our Spalding site.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

* Some flexibility is expected including peak periods

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 per annum  DOE

Job Description

Are you an experienced Site Maintenance Technician?

Can you ensure that the site, buildings, racking and general yard are maintained to a high standard?

Can you support the efficient operation of the site through proactive and reactive maintenance, ensuring plant and equipment uptime is maximised?

If YES, below will be your main responsibilities:

  • Ensure all practices and procedures are carried out in line with Fowler Welch’s BRC policy - Health & Safety policy and HACCP plan
  • Ensure that quality control procedures are followed
  • To be aware of Health and Safety for self and others and ensure safe working practices at all times, including the correct use of any equipment or chemicals.
  • Proactively identify, report and rectify any defects or maintenance issues ensuring all relevant documentation is maintained
  • General Maintenance repairs which may include electrical, plumbing, hydraulic or building/fabrication according to relevant qualification or experience
  • To follow the site PPM schedule, respond effectively to breakdowns, monitor equipment performance and provide feedback to ensure site efficiency is optimised.
  • Continuous improvements, to improve existing operations
  • Support contractor control, including issuing permits to work and monitoring contractor compliance
  • To be involved in site projects as required

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in carrying out repairs and general maintenance, including carpentry, painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing
  • Willingness to learn and train as appropriate
  • Proven experience of effectively working with competing priorities to deadlines.
  • Working proactively to maintenance timetables
  • Work at heights
  • Relevant statutory and legislative requirements for the industry
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Nationally recognised maintenance / engineering qualifications, eg City and Guilds 2382; 18th Edition Electrical Regulations; Plumbing; Welding etc
  • IOSH managing safely
  • RTITB standard training in any forms of MHE
  • MEWP training
  • Previous experience of working in a FMCG environment
  • Previous experience of working in a temperature-controlled environment
