Job Description

Reporting to Operations Director, the Head of Projects and Continuous Improvement will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of a business wide change strategy.

Key Duties

  • Development and implementation of the OE vision / strategy with a prioritised approach to unlock value in the supply chain.
  • Creation of a new team structure to enable effective delivery of the strategy.
  • Establishing detailed tactical plans to improve operational maturity, to enhance efficiency whilst engaging with key stakeholders to obtain buy-in.
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve business processes delivering cost reduction and quality improvements in both transport and warehousing.
  • Build effective and credible working relationships with different groups and functions. Identify resistance and manage change through motivating and influencing skills.
  • Identification of innovation and technological improvements through formal review to reduce waste and streamline processes ensuring best-practice is shared and standardisation is promoted across the network.
  • Delivery of business plan targets and KPI improvements
  • Supporting wider business change and IT initiatives through review of operational impact and ensuring go-live readiness
  • Delivery of CI business plan targets ensuring delivery of financial targets, documentation of initiatives and creation of value trackers. Validation of savings with finance linking improvement activity to P&L cost reduction

Qualifications

  • Development of business wide strategy
  • Extensive knowledge / thought leader in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Expert in both project management and continuous improvement with a proficient knowledge of change management techniques. 
  • Sound understanding of statistical analysis and its application. 
  • Project planning skills to ensure smooth operational delivery
  • Cost-assessment / demonstrates financial control
  • Facilitation skills – leads effective meetings and training sessions
  • Ability to integrate data findings into business decisions
  • Uses effective communication to sell and influence senior stakeholders
  • Able to provide leadership and coaching to both direct team and those involved with CI / project activity.
