Job Description

As the successful candidate you will contribute to the overall success of the site, you will report directly to the site Management Accountant responsible for undertaking a number of weekly and monthly financial reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with production of the weekly costings for multiple cost centres
  • Assist with preparation of Management Accounts including posting journals
  • Investigation and explanation of variances in the Management Accounts
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support with the production of the weekly review pack of financial and operational management information.
  • Invoice and credit control customers and update the Company cash forecast
  • Review supplier invoices against their purchase orders and assist in the authorisation process
  • Deal with site suppliers including self-billing subcontract hauliers on a weekly basis
  • Assist with the annual budget process
  • Assist with quarterly forecasting
  • Collate and issue various internal reporting
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects
  • Raising PO’s for all cost centres
  • Overseeing Petty Cash 
  • Filing and admin to support the accounts team as required

Qualifications

  • Part qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Highly proficient in using IT, including MS Office and accounts software
  • Excel is a key management information tool, a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and analysis of data is essential
  • Experienced in accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income deferral
  • Good communicator at all levels including, operational warehouse and transport managers and staff, customers, suppliers and other internal staff
  • Good team-player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and meet deadlines set
  • Inquisitive in nature with the ability to take initiative, looking for constant development and improvement of procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy
  • Experience of working in a similar industry is an advantage
