We are recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer on a 6 month fixed term contract, to join our Morgan McLernon site in Lurgan

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and detailed review of the payroll input and output, ensuring effective controls procedures are in place
  • Drive and develop efficient payroll processes to ensure the delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls. This will include the efficient use of the payroll system and the time and attendance system
  • Develop a range of management information reports, including costings reports, overtime, absence data and staff turnover
  • Support HMRC compliance in respect of deduction and payment of Income Tax, National Insurance and other statutory amounts. Support accurate and timely reporting under Real Time Information and provision of P45 and P60 information to employees
  • Responsibility for the reconciliation of payroll balance sheet accounts, including PAYE/NIC, Net Pay, Union deductions, Pension Contributions, AEO, CSA, and salary sacrifice
  • Ensure timely deduction and upload of pension contributions to the scheme provider and support the ongoing compliance with pension auto-enrolment obligations across the business
  • Conduct training of personnel in using the time and attendance system.
  • Regular communication with the Human Resources and Finance teams to promote joined up processes to the benefit of the overall business
  • Development and provision of ad-hoc reports as required by the senior management team
  • Take a key role in project initiatives that will add value to the business and its stakeholders

Qualifications

Key Skills:

  • Experienced in payroll preparation, including PAYE, NIC and pension deductions
  • Experience in Sage 50 Payroll and North Time Data time & attendance would be an advantage
  • Experience in reviewing and developing efficient payroll processes through the payroll and time and attendance systems
  • Pro-active development of management information around payroll and time and attendance
  • Advanced in using Microsoft Office, accounts, payroll and Time and attendance software
  • Excel is a key management information tool for MML. Therefore, a sound knowledge of using Excel for analysis of data is essential
