We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor on a full time, permanent basis, covering our St Helens depot.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00 rotating

Job Description

  • Uphold, develop and deliver robust Asset care through professional maintenance
  •  Ensure a robust site health and safety system is in place and has meaningful outputs (Audits, Near Misses and Risk Assessments)
  •  Review downtime data and key priorities to focus engineering support
  •  Conduct RCA on machinery failures and put 100 year fix in place
  •  Review current PPMs and align with manufacturers recommendations through the use of a CMMS (Shire)
  •  Support and develop stores and spare parts/ critical spares stock requirements for asset care and also control booking out of spares
  • Manage engineering T&A through company procedures and policies.
  • Through KPI’s maintain and improve engineering health and safety performance
  • Improve, uphold and sustain workshop GMP standards. Be audit ready
  • Own tool box audits
  • Lead shift hand over meetings and shift reports
  • Plan and execute shutdown maintenance requirements over a 7 day calendar
  • Deliver team briefs and business reports on a weekly / monthly basis
  • Ensure time and attendance of engineers is upheld
  • Conduct investigations when applicable
  • Provide stand-in support for Engineering Manager where applicable
  • Hands on engineering breakdown support required
  • Support the engineering budget through delivering cost effective maintenance
  • Drive Capital improvement programs through exposing opportunities, cost / benefit analysis reports, requests for cash and implementation.
  • H&S Champion
  • Identify skill gaps and develop training plan for the engineers
  • Ensure that shifts are adequately manned at all times
  • Support apprentice development
  • Legislative Compliance & Audit Compliance duties
  • Develop standard setting manuals for all equipment available for all

 

Qualifications

  • Formal engineering qualification HNC and above.
  • Working knowledge of TPM methodology
  • Demonstrable PLC skills (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley)
  • Experience in delivering change management within an engineering environment
  • Demonstrable skills working with Flow Wrappers, Multihead Weighers, Printing Systems, Powder Transfer Systems, Rotary Pot Sealers, Augers, Checkweighers and Metal Detectors
  • Experience of working in food and FMCG environment.
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically in all task’s
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification
  • Good numeracy and IT skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise engineering team workloads to maximise productivity
  • Experienced with working to tight customer deadlines
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks
