Shift: Monday to Friday, 8.30-17.00

Job Description

  • Ensure Risk assessments and SOPs are compliant with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and company procedures e.g. use and condition of  handling equipment
  • Co-ordinate the activities of the warehouse team, over 3 shifts, providing clear concise direction and counselling to the team to maximise employee contribution
  • Achieve KPIs including pallet movements per hour, stock accuracy, deployment and utilisation of stock on outbound.
  • Responsible for the management of the sites handling equipment FLTs, T20s.
  • Review warehouse team competency and ensure appropriate training and development plans are set and implemented to meet both the individual and the business needs.
  • Drive the implementation of compliance to rules of engagement for warehouse inbound and outbound to ensure efficient running of the operation
  • Manage customer stocktakes on site as required
  • Delivery of operational standards in the warehouse areas for hygiene, stock segregation and traceability
  • Responsible for the management of stock on stock systems e.g. SAP
  • Responsible for own and team’s development and to carryout objective setting, performance appraisals and development planning – moving towards a self-management culture
  • Investigate and report findings and KPI anomalies to the management team in a timely and professional basis.
  • To control, meet and develop agreed KPI targets though accurate data reporting internally and externally.
  • To ensure, identify and promote best working practices for continual improvement within the department and business.
  • To ensure Data, reports and system requirements for the continued function of work are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure effective management of stock and pallet storage and integrity, completing weekly counts and input of customer data.
  • Conduct Return to work investigation, accident, conduct or performance issues
  • Work in a collaborative manner with multiple teams to ensure key requirements are communicated, understood and implemented
  • Ensure the day to day operations are measurable and sustainable taking corrective action when required
  • Ensure teams are providing a reliable service that meets the company’s KPI’s, quality measures and audit requirements in line with good manufacturing practices (GMP)
  • Challenge ways of working with a view to monitor and control costs implementing lean manufacturing principles where required
  • Review staffing levels with a view to control costs
  • Promote and adhere to health and safety practices at all times
  • Be a role model and champion best practice throughout operations
  • To undertake other duties from time to time that are commensurate within this role

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years warehousing  experience
  • Experience of managing teams, able to prioritise.
  • Customer stock and systems experience
  • Financial / Budgetary awareness
  • Management qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Level 3 Health & Safety qualification or above
  • Level 3 Food Safety qualification or above
  • Strong industry continuous improvement skills and knowledge
  • Possess a dynamic leadership attitude, supporting teams as needed and work together to add value and manage challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage, motivate and coach
  • Possess a ‘right first time’ attitude and have a willingness to be hands on when required
