Job Description

To deliver an efficient and cost-effective cross-docking warehousing solution to accommodate the requirements of the Evesham operation and achieve the necessary service levels whilst operating with the legal limits.

To monitor daily operational targets / KPI’s and ensure these take into account Company standards and agreed Customer service level parameters during your shift.

Shift: 5 from 7 days

Key Duties:

  • Identify the training and development needs for departmental supervisors and coach/organise/oversee solutions using own knowledge and company training tools.
  • Ensure all practices and procedures are carried out in line with legislation and Company Health & Safety policy, BRC and HACCP
  • Monitor and control costs and proactively manage them against budget
  • To liaise closely with Site Operational Managers in Evesham to ensure understanding of each others issues, joint resolution of problems and achieve efficiencies between the departments
  • To ensure staff rotas are updated and correct levels of staffing are used.
  • Overall responsibility for training for use of equipment of MHE and operating equipment for all employees and record keeping.
  • Ensuring that daily handover reports and warehouse management reports are completed.
  • Producing, analysing and providing feedback on daily, weekly and monthly reports relating to performance and finance suggesting improvements when necessary.
  • Responsibility to identify, promote, support and implement continuous improvement programs
  • Overseeing the implementation of new business in line with customer requirements.
  • Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained at all times
  • To attend management meetings as appropriate and produce management reports and statistics as requested.
  • To liaise regularly with operations and all other departments and sites to develop strong working relationships.
  • Maintain department discipline including time keeping, conduct and performance using the Company disciplinary policy and procedures with the support of HR and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Oversee the effective application of the Company absence policy and procedures including monitoring of absence levels and conducting return to work discussions.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years management experience within a warehouse environment
  • Minimum 3 years people management experience
  • Operational methods and procedures relating to the logistics industry
  • Knowledge of the local commercial marketplace
  • Customer service experience
  • Cross-dock management techniques
  • Warehouse health & safety legislation
  • Results focus

  • Thoroughness/attention to detail
