Job Description

CML is currently recruiting for a Head of Commercial reporting to the Culina Logistics and CML CEO. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior leader to join a well-established successful growing business within a rapidly growing larger logistics and supply chain Group.

The Role of Head of Commercial is to ensure the business achieves budgeted sales and growth targets set in the Annual Budget by developing a new and existing customer base and realising new opportunities. To ensure that customers receive the level of service they expect and to develop long trusted relationships with key account customers vital to the success of the business.

 Key Accountabilities

  • Agree with the CEO budgeted sales (growth) figures for the business on an annual basis and how this can be achieved, thus providing the overall direction of the commercial department and identifying the needs of the business.
  • To develop and maintain a Sales Pipeline which should facilitate the required growth targets of the business on an annual basis.
  • Identify new and emerging markets which can contribute to the growth of the organisation and develop these to active trading accounts.
  • Develop and maintain new and existing relationships with key clients who will help the business achieve budgeted sales and growth targets.

Qualifications

The position requires the candidate to be independent and entrepreneurial in their approach to establishing new clients and identifying work flows which meet the core activities of the business. The role will require the candidate to implement business plans and develop strategic solutions to meet a customer’s needs.

The candidate’s knowledge of the industry and relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues will be a key element of their success. The commercial decisions taken by the candidate will directly affect the profitability of the business and will also impact upon customer satisfaction and business professionalism.
