Culina Logistics is the leading 3rd party UK logistics business specialising in chilled warehousing providing an excellent platform for food and drink manufactures.

We are recruiting for Transport Co-ordinator / Shunter on a full time, permanenet basis at our Tilbury site

Shift: 4 on 4 off days - 7am-7pm

Salary: Up to £37,698 per annum 

Job Description

The role will include office and shunting duties ensuring deliveries are dispatched on time.

Main Responsilbilities of a Transport Co-ordinator / Shunter:

  •  Responsible for the safe efficient and effective Transport Operation
  •  Checking all paperwork is correct and drivers are briefed on all duties
  •  Complete equipment checks for safety and roadworthiness and cool chain is  maintained
  • Observe and adhere to site procedures, Health & Safety policies, Company rules and procedures, including all aspects of Hygiene
  • Print scan and archive all despatch notes / POD’s
  • Answering telephone calls assisting with any enquiries 
  • Adhere to Transport Department systems, procedures and practices, ensuring correct and thorough completion of paperwork.
  • Effectively manage one’s own Working Time in line with the Road Transport Directive
  • Ensure to adhere to tachograph rules and EU Driver hours regulations at all times
  • Carry out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete associated documentation
  • Responsible for all equipment, constantly checking temperature of trailer as per customer EFFSIS requirements
  • Liaise with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
  • Responsible for immediately reporting any problems, regarding delivery arrival times or delays or discrepancies with the load to our customer service team escalating any concerns to the Transport Manager

Qualifications

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Culina Logistics and operations within the Transport Department
  • Hold the appropriate driving licence (class 1) whilst in employment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy at all times
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Strong communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually
  • Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
