Job Description

The Solutions Manager will be responsible for supporting the Head of Commercial and the Commercial Team with achieving the business growth strategy and targets working with both existing and new customers.

The role holder will be required to undertake commercial analysis in the development of business solutions and commercial proposals. The individual will also be expected to represent Warrens to customers and in the wider industry and develop a comprehensive understanding of the market.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Management of all steps and process in relation to new business from initial enquiry through to contractual agreement
  • Build winning relationships through effective stakeholder management – both internal and external.
  • Monitoring and analysing customer requirements and identifying the optimum solution to deliver a cost effective solution to meet their needs.
  • Development of customer proposals which clearly convey the proposed solution and the benefits of working with Warrens.
  • Explore and identify opportunities where the business can grow. This may include offering services to new customers and offering additional services to existing customers including value added opportunities
  • Deliver clear briefing of account requirements and recommendations to key stakeholders (example: Finance, Line management.)
  • Deliver clear weekly and monthly updates on the new business pipeline to key stakeholders including the Board of Directors
  • Supporting and leading the contract negotiation process with customers through to sign off under the guidance of the Head of Commercial
  • To create polished proposals, presentations, contracts and other documentation, in line with relevant department procedures. To ensure all written work is of a top quality standard and adheres to Culina Group brand style guidance at all times.
  • Translate dynamic market/customer insight into developing solutions and customer proposals
  • To respond to tenders, requests for proposals and other requests for information in a timely and organised manner.
  • To attend meetings with current and prospective clients as required.
  •  To work closely with the commercial team to ensure that the business fully understands any changes within the clients characteristics and make recommendations on the appropriate course of action. 
  • Work closely with the General Managers and the site operational teams to ensure the service / solution being proposed can be carried out by the operation cost effectively.
  • Work closely with the Financial the commercial and finance teams to ensure that potential solutions deliver the business service/profitability expectations.
  • To liaise with and keep informed relevant Culina Group departments of new business and or current business changes as required. Also, identifying any areas for internal / external process improvement that may improve revenue recovery and improve profitability. 
  • To represent Warrens and Culina Group as required and to represent the company and its products and services at all times in a professional and knowledgeable manner

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a productive relationship with colleagues in the Commercial, Sales and Finance teams.

The individual will work with the Commercial Team to deliver robust business proposals for presentation to our customers.  Due to the nature of this role, you should expect to be involved in a number of high-profile ad hoc projects and pieces of analysis with senior exposure.

  • Ideally have experience of working in the FMCG/Fresh Food sector.
  • Proven experience in a Supply Chain environment.
  • Will preferably have worked within a 3PL environment.
  • Detailed understanding and experience of both warehouse and transport operations in a fast paced FMCG environment.
  • Educated to high standard, preferably degree level with strong technology skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and flexibly and without direct supervision.
  • Commercially aware, literate, numerate with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to be clear and concise in all forms of written and verbal communication, confident in dealing with all levels of personnel.
  • Be highly organised, possess a flexible approach with a focus on attention to detail to work with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of operational logistics management
  • Exceptional numeracy skills
  • Business financial understanding desirable.
