Position Overview
Crown Innovations is seeking an experienced SWOPS Lead & Configuration Manager to serve as the critical bridge between Software Development and Production Operations. This role is responsible for leading operational support functions, maintaining software configuration integrity, managing deployment pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, security, and availability of development, test, staging, and production environments.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities, driving operational excellence while overseeing configuration management processes, CI/CD automation, cloud infrastructure, and software release governance. This individual will play a key role in maximizing system uptime, optimizing infrastructure performance, and ensuring the integrity and traceability of software builds and deployments across all environments.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
Lead and coordinate daily SWOPS operations, workload management, and shifting priorities based on production needs.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
Collaborate with software development, QA, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to support software delivery and operational objectives.
Establish and maintain operational processes, standards, and best practices.
Environment & Infrastructure Management
Oversee the provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and lifecycle management of development, testing, staging, and production environments.
Manage and optimize cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Monitor system performance and availability to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
Implement proactive measures to improve system resilience and performance.
Configuration & Release Management
Establish and maintain software configuration management (SCM) processes and controls.
Ensure the integrity, traceability, and governance of software baselines, releases, and deployments.
Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, and version control standards.
Coordinate software releases and deployment activities across multiple environments.
CI/CD & Automation
Design, implement, maintain, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines.
Continuously improve deployment automation, build processes, and operational tooling.
Promote Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation best practices where applicable.
Support build management and deployment activities across the software development lifecycle.
Incident Management & Operational Support
Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues and service disruptions.
Lead incident response efforts and coordinate resolution activities.
Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Develop monitoring, alerting, and reporting strategies to improve operational visibility.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Extensive hands-on experience managing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
Strong expertise with Git, source control management, branching strategies, and repository governance within GitHub Enterprise and Bitbucket.
Experience utilizing the Atlassian Suite, including Jira and Confluence, for project tracking, operational workflows, and documentation management.
Strong experience managing and supporting infrastructure within AWS cloud environments.
Advanced proficiency in Bash scripting for automation, deployment, and system administration.
Strong administration and troubleshooting experience with Linux and macOS operating systems.
Experience supporting mission-critical production environments and operational teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and coordinate cross-functional teams.
6+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Operations, Configuration Management, or related disciplines, including 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Configuration Management and Release Management processes.
Experience implementing and supporting DevOps best practices.
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools and methodologies.
Experience supporting distributed software development teams.
Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance requirements in regulated environments.
Previous experience leading operational or DevOps-focused teams.
