The Conflicts Analyst supports the firm’s risk management need and new business function by collecting necessary information to perform thorough and accurate conflict of interest checks on lateral attorney hiring and proposed new representations. The Analyst is responsible for review and analysis of new matter requests and conflicts information related to firm acceptance of lateral hiring and new matters. The Analyst also assists with the resolution of conflicts issues, and may assist the firm’s Conflicts Attorneys and Senior Conflicts Counsel with conflicts review associated with special projects, such as bankruptcies.
Workweek Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. ET or CT time.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyzes information provided with new matter requests for compliance with firm policies and applicable rules of professional responsibility.
- Reviews conflict of interest reports for lateral hires and new firm matters to confirm no potential conflicts problems or to identify conflicts problems in need of resolution.
- Assists conflicts attorneys with resolution strategies and outreach to impacted attorneys within the firm.
- Reviews engagement letters for new clients to ensure compliance with firm templates, as well as the inclusion of special language as needed.
- Reviews new matter scope communications to ensure compliance with firm policies and risk management concerns.
- Assists Conflicts Director, Manager and Assistant Manager with the training of new Conflicts Information Specialists and Conflicts Analysts, as well as ongoing training regarding procedures, process updates, and changes due to software changes, application changes, technical upgrades, and process improvements.
- Assists Conflicts Director and Conflicts Attorneys with issues associated with special projects, such as bankruptcies, lateral groups, or ethics walls.
- Participates in testing, development, and analytic activities associated with the Conflicts Department’s implementation and upgrade of electronic tools, software, applications, and new electronic processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of conflicts of interest issues.
- High level of knowledge and ability related to technical systems associated with law firm new business intake.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with attorneys and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment; work independently with attention to detail; adapt to changing priorities; meet deadlines and daily requirements.
- High level of knowledge of internet research.
- Demonstrated ability to follow data entry conventions and enter data accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to master new technology applications.
- Advanced skill in operating standard office equipment, including desktop computers, facsimile machines, copiers, and telephones.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel.
Education
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience
The position requires a minimum of fours (4) years of increasingly responsible, directly-related conflicts law firm experience or experience in a practice support or legal assistant capacity.

Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $67,000-$90,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
