The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating and monitoring key enterprise services projects from initiation through delivery utilizing both traditional and Agile project management methodologies. Projects may vary and include the following: system and enterprise applications implementations, COTS systems implementation, cross-functional process improvement initiatives, new software product implementation, cloud/infrastructure/security projects, etc.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of assigned projects throughout the development project lifecycle including project scope, schedule, resources, quality, change management, budget and communication.
- Manages diverse cross-functional project teams.
- Provides project estimates, manages project risks, and provides quality assurance guidance, testing and support.
- Facilitates and participates in technical/business discussions and requirements gathering sessions, and documents project requirements.
- Remains current with latest project management/technology trends and developments.
- Participates, promotes and supports Project Management methodology and techniques.
- Develops and maintains detailed project plans to include milestones, tasks, resources, and target/actual dates of completion.
- Prepares and submits project status reports to management
- Schedules and conducts project meetings to include logistics, agendas, and project minutes.
- Acts as a liaison for department on enterprise wide projects
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Manage vendor or other third-party relationships as needed
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to successfully manage intermediate to large-scale projects using a prescribed approach.
- Ability to develop detailed project plans, communication plans, schedules, role definitions, risk management and assumptions.
- Ability to create project management deliverables, such as WBS, schedule, meeting agendas/minutes, issues and action items tracking.
- Demonstrated strong background in software development methodology and software engineering best practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience with Agile development methodologies including Scrum.
- Demonstrated solid knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Visio) and use of SharePoint.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience with cloud related enterprise projects
- Ability to develop Product and Sprint Backlogs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to document technical processes to maximize reader comprehension.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources, solve problems by applying precedent or extrapolating from previous experience.
- Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, flexible and customer-oriented, pro-active and a self-starter.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
Requirements:
Education
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.
Experience
The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of direct project management and systems implementation experience. Experience leading large-scale Enterprise Systems and Infrastructure projects desired.
- PMP and/or other related education/certification desired.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) desired.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading cross-functional technology projects required.
