Job Summary

The Lateral Partner Recruiting Specialist works with the Lateral Partner Recruiting team to support the various committees, departments, practice groups, and firm leaders in executing a strategic approach to the lateral partner recruiting process and the overall strategic growth of the firm. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with lateral search firm recruiters and ensures all search firm procedures are correctly tracked and implemented.
  • Works closely with LPR Manager and/or LPR Director to launch and run proactive searches including developing the pitch, organizing materials, maintaining the spreadsheet and do not call list, identifying and scheduling meetings with headhunters and follow-up meetings and/or communications.
  • Oversees and manages the drafting and distribution of substantive scheduling communications and maintains required records.
  • Monitors responses to schedules and address cancellations or changes with timely communications to all parties involved.
  • Reviews evaluations and collaborates with LPR Senior Director to identify next steps and to develop follow up communications.
  • Works with the Senior Lateral Partner Recruiting Director to execute practice group grwoth strategies in collaboration with Strategic Growth Committee and practice group leaders.
  • Develops board memo outlines in preparation for board votes.
  • Maintains recruiting database (SmartRecruiters) to ensure data is up-to-date and compliant at all times.
  • Manages the development and distribution of reports on the status and analytics of all lateral partner recruiting efforts.
  • Works with LPR Manager/Senior Director to develop team meeting agenda as needed.
  • Responsible for LPR team finances, including but not limited to firm credit card management and reimbursement, pro forma review and editing, and expense reimbursement.
  • Performs special projects as needed

  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to take an assignment from inception to completion with minimal supervision or by following broad guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze needs and to determine priorities based on business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys, staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Must possess a thorough command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment that includes multiple locations, to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
  • Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding both routine and complex matters. Requires patience, creativity and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative manner, to complete projects, resolve problems, and troubleshoot concerns.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the firm with honesty, integrity, and professionalism, consistently acting in an ethical manner.  Ability to keep confidential any information, observations or viewpoints regarding firm business matters.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as necessary.

Education

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.  Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

Experience

The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of recruiting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment, during which the knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the position were demonstrated.

Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary for this position is $57,400-$87,200.00. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
