Job Responsibilities
•    Monitors monthly billing cycle and deadlines for status and completion. 
•    Identifies client billing compliance issues and recommends solutions to billing management to improve end-to-end billing process.
•    Communicates with internal and external clients regarding processing invoices, resolving complex billing issues and status of invoices. Responds to queries as required.
•    Updates Elite 3E system user defined and other fields necessary to report accurately on e-billed matters. 
•    Collaborates with Assistant Manager, eBilling to verify monthly reconciliation for all e-billed matters to Elite 3E system.
•    Collaborates with the Collections/Cash Applications team to resolve unallocated cash balances.
•    Utilizes the firm’s financial systems and other reporting tools, to keep Attorneys and Billing Leadership up-to-date regarding billing aspects of assigned contracts.
•    Ensures that all open matters have been assigned a Billing Coordinator.  Coordinates introduction of Billing Coordinator to assigned Billing Attorney and Secretary team. 
•    Ensures that client billing instructions/process notes are updated in iManage
1)    client billing guidelines, and 
2)    documented instructions explaining specific special billing arrangements 
•    Assigns workload to direct reports and supervises major billing projects. Assists Billing Coordinators with non-routine/complex client billing arrangements and provides training to billing staff as needed. Continually reviews Billing Coordinator work to ensure accuracy of firm records. 
•    Assigns back-up roles in case of absence/vacations.
•    Meet with manager regularly and provide updated billing forecast on a weekly basis.  Proactively escalate issues.
•    Monitors adherence to internal procedures under a quality control program.
•    Provides performance feedback and participate in annual evaluations for assigned team.
•    Participates in firm-wide and departmental projects and initiatives.
•    Collaborates with Manager and Assistant Managers on department projects and assignments.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.  Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

Experience
The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Billing that included direct supervision of others.  Experience in a professional services organization is preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
•    Demonstrated ability to supervise/manage team of professional billers and coordinate workflow, provide effective feedback and prepare annual reviews.
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys, staff, vendors and clients.
•    Demonstrated ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a routine nature.
•    Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
•    Ability to effectively supervise others, including hiring, training, assigning work, managing performance, and counseling.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures.
•    Demonstrated ability to prepare analysis of complex issues and information.
•    Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, and standard work documents.
•    Intermediate knowledge of Elite 3E accounting/billing software, including troubleshooting and resolving problems.
•    Ability to understand and enforce client service standards and expectations within a law firm and/or professional services environment.
•    Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
