Job Description

CMI is seeking a Consultant to join its Washington, DC office immediately (working remotely until health conditions permit in-person operations).  The Consultant will support client teams and accounts across CMI’s three core business pillars – Global Health, Digital Transformation, and Trade & Investment issues.

Projects and client-related work for this position will include, for example:

•      Supporting engagements between business executives, top government officials, and civil society leaders globally;

•      Monitoring, researching, and analyzing domestic, regional, and international policy and regulatory issues and assisting in the design, development, and implementation of strategies to help shape them;

•      Drafting of memos, presentations, talking points, briefing books, leave-behinds and other materials to support internal client strategy development and external advocacy; and

•      Managing the development and execution of conferences, meetings, and other uniquely crafted public-private engagements for clients, including staffing and logistical support.

Top candidates are passionate, entrepreneurial, comfortable communicating with senior level audiences, quick learners, and can handle several complex projects simultaneously and with great attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment. Creativity is a must, as we collaborate to develop unique, impactful policy strategies for our clients. We also value and encourage autonomy and a sense of ownership over the important work that we do for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2­­-3 years' relevant experience post-university or a combination of a master’s degree and 1-2 years’ relevant experience, ideally in a capacity related to public policy development and/or government affairs, whether in the private sector, within government, or at a non-governmental organization. Prior consulting experience or experience working on global health issues is a plus but not required. Salary is commensurate with experience.

 

Qualifications

•      A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

•      A minimum of 2­­-3 years' relevant experience post-university or a combination of a master’s degree and 1-2 years’ relevant experience in private sector, government, or nonprofit organizations required

•      Experience related to global health or one of CMI’s other pillars (trade and investment; digital transformation) desired

•      Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload with minimal supervision

•      Must possess an aptitude to coordinate a variety of initiatives

•      Languages: English (required), others (desired)

•      Some regional and international travel expected (when health conditions permit)
