Job Summary:

The Specialist, Graphic Design & Branding will collaborate with the Manager, Graphic Design & Branding to conceptualize, create and implement designs in support of firm, practice, market and other initiatives. This candidate will work closely with members of the client development and practice management department, as well as firm attorneys, to identify branding and design project needs, provide original and creative custom designs, and to develop materials in support of those needs. This position is also responsible for maintaining the brand integrity of the firm across all internal and external marketing materials.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Designs, facilitates and project manages the production of firm marketing materials, including advertisements, brochures, publications, sell sheets, and newsletters.
•    Serves as a brand steward to ensure consistency of the firm’s visual identity across all departments and offices (as well as with external vendors) and be a brand advisor to the Business Development and Marketing teams, ensuring the integrity of all marketing collateral. 
•    Working within an established workflow platform, ensures projects are managed from cradle to grave and that projects are delivered on time. 
•    Designs graphics in support of the web and digital services team, providing depth in design for digital applications, including crowell.com, apps, social media, and email marketing campaigns.   
•    Designs graphics and collateral materials for firm-sponsored events and conferences, including posters, name badges, programs, and invitations (in print and electronic formats).  Conceptualizes and executes the visual identity for larger firm-sponsored events.
•    Conceptualizes and designs logos for internal departments and firm initiatives.  Develops icon families for marketing materials.
•    Conceptualizes and produces infographics that illustrate a narrative and helps to tell a story through data visualization.
•    Provides proofing and copyrighting as needed (in collaboration with the firm copywriter).
•    Formats and adds design elements to select Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and pitch/proposal materials.
•    Establishes and maintains relationships with outside external vendors, including commercial printers, freelancers, and photographers.  Requests estimates, manages proof approvals from printers, and manages expectations between vendors and internal client.
•    Sources and evaluates stock photography and manage an image library, keeping it relevant and organized for full team use. 
•    Works directly with magazines, publications, sponsorship entities and other outside parties to submit projects as needed.
 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design.  Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

Experience
The position requires a minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.  Law firm or professional services experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator,).
•    Basic knowledge of HTML and online layouts/WYSIWYG editors.
•    Proficiency in PDF creation (including interactive) and manipulation (Acrobat Pro or via firm PDF software, Nuance).
•    Proficient in MS suite, specifically Word and PowerPoint as it related to creating, editing, formatting and troubleshooting templates. 
•    Applicable knowledge of HTML and CSS.
•    Understanding of print processes with a solid knowledge of current printing trends.
•    Ability to use FTP (file transfer protocol) for web uploading.
•    Understanding of graphic design in a PC environment.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cooperative, enthusiastic, and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with internal and external contacts.
•    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
•    Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
•    Knowledge of Illustration and UI preferred.
