Job Summary:

The Practice Group Business Development & Management (PGBD&M) Assistant will provide support to the PGBD&M group on a wide variety of administrative tasks, including assisting with day-to-day operations. This position will report to a manager(s) and/or director and work closely with other members of the PGBD&M team to ensure that assigned practice groups’ business development and practice management needs are met.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Coordinates logistics for assigned Practice Group meetings and events.
•    Assists assigned managers and directors with gathering existing data and creating drafts for client pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations.
•    Maintains calendar of team and Practice Group meetings and upcoming events.
•    Maintains Practice Group(s) Intranet site, firm databases, and other knowledge management tools as needed.
•    Assists with monitoring various court case alerts and other news sources.
•    Prepares travel and expense reimbursements for submission to Accounting Department.
•    Assists with special projects and performs other administrative functions within the group as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree.  Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

Experience
The position requires basic familiarity with the knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to
the position.  Training will be provided on the job.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•    Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn and utilize additional software.
•    Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills and judgment on knowing when to reach out for clarification on projects.
•    Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization and work both independently and with others.
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 
•    Must possess strong attention to detail.
•    Must possess sound judgment with respect to confidential and sensitive information. 
•    Reasonable flexibility to work overtime hours as requested.
•    Ability to safely lift, move and carry items without assistance, weighing up to 25 lbs.
