Job Summary

The Healthcare Policy Analyst’s role is to support the Healthcare Group with policy matters for clients.  The Analyst performs a variety of tasks and services critical to servicing the Healthcare Group clients and conducting client development on a daily basis.  In addition the Analyst’s duties include research and writing, attending and summarizing hearings and meetings, and assisting the Healthcare Group with new and time sensitive client requests. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Monitors Health Policy to include tracking of relevant Congressional (e.g., House E&C, Senate HELP, Senate Finance) and Agency activities (e.g., HHS (ONC, CMS, OCR), FTC) - for healthcare client retainers to keep other clients informed.
•    Track the status of legislation and hearings, new or upcoming regulations and identify agency activities (roundtables, conferences, grants, etc.) that may pose client opportunities for agency engagement.
•    Attend and summarize health policy events for clients (Congressional hearings, agency webinars, roundtable discussions or events by key policy stakeholders, etc.)
•    Coordinate Federal Stakeholder matters to include meetings with regulators and others, prepare materials for meetings and capture discussion for follow up and response to agency officials.
•    Review public documents of agencies for clients (e.g., comments to agency action, advisory committee meetings, agency webinars on new regulations/policy)
•    Coordinate Health Coalition matters to include meetings set up, engagement with coalition members, preparation of materials for coalition meetings and incorporation of feedback on documents.
•    Conduct policy research and liaise with research services for client or prospective client presentations.
•    Provide substantive support related to business development for Digital Health to include writing substantive, tailored content (including thought leadership/blogs) and content for proposals, presentations, etc. that does not require legal work. 
•    Project management support for larger projects to ensure timely responsive engagement with clients.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Public Policy or other related field.  Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience
The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•    Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a complex nature. Requires patience, creativity and discretion.
•    Intermediate knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, standard work documents.
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
•    Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
•    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
•    Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
