Job Summary:

The Mail Services Clerk provides general administrative support to the firm in the area of mail distribution.  The position may assist with other functions within the Operations Department, to include facsimile, facilities, maintenance, internal office moves, and other general office services.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Receives and sorts incoming U.S. mail and correspondences for internal delivery.
•    Receives and processes service requests for the Operations department.
•    Establishes and maintains good working relations with clients, co-workers, and administrative personnel.
•    Delivers all accountable mail to the U.S. Post Office.
•    Hand delivers official firm documents to the courts as well as businesses.
•    Works independently or as directed by the Senior Office Services Supervisor or Operations Coordinator.
•    Makes efficient use of firm resources.
•    Identifies ways and means to reduce costs of operations and/or to increase service, timeliness and quality.
•    Protects firm assets by following prescribed guidelines relating to security, safety and inventory.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education
The position requires a High School diploma or GED.

Experience
The position requires basic familiarity with office services such as mail sorting and delivery and the operation of standard office support equipment such as fax, phone, and duplicating machines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 •    Demonstrated ability to perform other functions including but not limited to duplicating, facsimile, cleaning, moving, set-up/break-down. 
•    Demonstrated ability to manage frequent periods of standing and/or walking; able to perform moderate moving and lifting of items weighing up to 75 pounds safely, as assigned.
•    Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions and to communicate clearly with co-workers and outside parties.
•    Demonstrated ability to provide basic client service requiring ordinary tact and courtesy.
•    Demonstrated ability to select and apply clearly defined standards, policies and/or procedures, solve problems by choosing between clear choices or discussing with supervisor.
•    Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and daily duties.
•    Demonstrated ability to work overtime including weekends when needed.
