Job Summary:

The UC Administrator works in conjunction with other members of the Network Engineering team to design implement and maintain the infrastructure and application components in a large Microsoft Windows Server environment.  This role includes a heavy emphasis on supporting the performance, and availability of our global telephony system, including Microsoft Skype for Business 2015 with video conferencing.  The UC Administrator will be responsible for business requirements and overall administration to include site topology, front-end and back-end server configuration, Microsoft server clustering and mobility services.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Manages Unified Communications platform MS Skype for Business 2015, Mediant Media Gateways, Mediant Session Border Controllers.
•    Manages PolyCom telephone headsets including updating all headsets to the latest firmware levels.
•    Provides troubleshooting, expert advice and guidance within the IT voice and messaging fields.
•    Leads the voice and messaging elements of projects for the firm’s entire telephony system; provides subject matter expertise.
•    Monitors availability and performance of voice and messaging systems and rectifies issues.
•    Maintains, upgrades, recovers, troubleshoots and provides general support of voice and messaging platforms.
•    Plans and implements patches, hotfixes and upgrades to Microsoft Skype environment at server and client application levels.
•    Maintains and periodically tests Disaster Recovery Voice Infrastructure for all offices.
•    Documents processes for internal policies and procedures related to voice and messaging.
•    Assesses, documents and implements changes as required in conjunction with risk and security teams.
•    Performs infrastructure configuration management activities, and follows change management procedures for implementing any changes to the production voice and messaging environment.
•    Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling all users to work more effectively.
•    Completes special projects and other duties as assigned by Manager, Network Operations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent certification from an accredited technical training school or equivalent experience in general MIS/computer support. The position requires a minimum of two to four years of directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the position were demonstrated.

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification (Exchange Preferred).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•    Experience and administration with Microsoft Skype for Business 2015.
•    Experience and administration with Polycom Commander Application.
•    Experience with Media Gateways / Session Border Controllers.
•    Proficiency in Networking: TCP / IP / DNS / DHCP / SIP.
•    Familiarity with management tools for a Microsoft-based infrastructure.
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys, staff and external contacts.
•    Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts.
•    Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
•    Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
•    Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources, solve problems by applying precedent or extrapolating from previous experience.
•    Flexibility for after-hours work as needed.
