Job Description
The Cricut Creative Department is a multi-faceted team of dreamers and doers who bring the Cricut brand to life through exceptional creative content. This in-house team turns business strategy into visual reality with best-in-class, forward-thinking solutions that consider the full scope of consumer touchpoints. The team is comprised of four key areas: Design, Copy, Project Design, and Operations. Together, their work helps people lead creative lives.
The Creative Department’s Copy Team is a highly collaborative group of self-proclaimed word nerds who embody the voice of Cricut across all consumer-facing touchpoints. This team owns the full scope of the copy process from conceptual work and messaging development through hand-off of approved copy to their various partners. They are accountable for translating briefs into consumer-facing, brand-right copy whether in campaigns, on product pages, in our app (Design Space), and beyond.
- Collaborate with Concept, Studio, and Design teams to provide copy support at every stage of the creative process
- Concept Phase: Develop messaging and copy direction for brand and seasonal campaigns
- Execution Phase: Create and oversee copy for all assets (e.g., email, PDP, web, video, ads)
- Work with Marketing, Channel, DTC, and other teams to understand briefs and deliver compelling copy
- Write UX copy across various touchpoints: onboarding, software releases, etc.
- Copyedit and proofread work of fellow Copywriters as needed
- Ensure adherence to brand voice across all consumer touchpoints and projects
- Act as project lead for various campaigns and projects
- Report to the Copy Manager
Qualifications
- You have 5-7 years of experience as a Copywriter (in-house brand experience required)
- You have UX writing experience (not required, but very nice to have)
- You’re a stellar collaborator and communicator who’s willing to ask questions and work with the team to find solutions that help us meet our company goals while pushing the brand forward
- You love Creative work (with a capital “C”), but you also love the nitty gritty stuff like refining disclaimers with the legal team, chatting through tech specs with product folks, and writing PDP copy
- You’ll thrive in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to self-manage and execute multiple priority projects simultaneously
- You’re a people person. Sure, you love being heads-down in the writing process, but you can also build and nurture great working relationships
- You can jam out in Figma and nerd out in Airtable (not required, but also very nice to haves)
- You can embrace the oxford comma — and you love an em dash
