Job Description

Don’t you just love designing for people that are genuinely excited about your products? Don’t you just love stumbling across low-hanging fruit? Isn’t it fun working with world-class designers?  

Over the last few years we’ve built an incredible design team, full of nice people that like solving interesting problems. People who put their ego aside and help each other for the good of the team, and we’d like you to join.  

We’re looking for a Senior Industrial Designer capable of leading hardware projects from the very beginning of product definition, to the very end of mass production and beyond.  

This position can be remote anywhere in USA.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide vision, creative solutions, and beautiful aesthetics for Industrial Design across various categories: machines, products, accessories, packaging, hand tools, soft goods, furniture and everything in-between.  

  • Lead design projects from start to finish. 

  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual design language across a family of products. 

  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to solve problems and deliver great hardware solutions.  

  • Collaborate well with our vendors and suppliers to find the best results for the product, company and end users.  

  • Clearly communicate design points-of-view with internal stakeholders.  

  • Work with external design agencies across the world.  

  • Understand user needs, technical limitations, cost targets, timelines and business objectives.  

  • Work well with internal teams, including others in the ID team to bring the best possible products to the market.  

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant Industrial Design experience including experience in a Design Consultancy/Agency capacity. 

  • Mastery of industry standard design software, including 3D CAD (Solidworks, Rhino, Creo), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Keyshot/Bunkspeed. 

  • Proficient with the Microsoft office suite 

  • Hands-on prototyping and model making experience. 

  • An excellent portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design, an understanding of end-users and strong sketching, research, color and form skills 

  • Award-winning design experience. 

  • Proven track record of bringing products to market in mass production.  

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Experience working on products with complex mechanical design in close collaboration with Mechanical engineers 

  • Excellent understanding of plastic and metal manufacturing processes 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Strategic and tactical thinking
