Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Visual UX Designer to design beautiful software experiences that clearly communicate functionality and interactivity, while maintaining and extending Cricut’s brand. You’ll participate in the entire user-centered UX design process – from concept through execution, incorporating user input throughout the process. Your work will happen in a highly collaborative environment, where you will partner with interaction designers, product managers, software developers, industrial designers and colleagues from the Marketing and Creative teams. This position is within the User Experience team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create visual design systems that support compelling user experiences on a variety of platforms including web, desktop and mobile.
  • Bring extensive visual design expertise to user experience problems by visualizing possibilities, offering appropriate and delightful solutions, and clearly articulating design rationale and tradeoffs.
  • Leverage, extend and maintain the integrity of the Cricut brand.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, bringing a deep understanding of software product relationships to ensure the visual coherence of Cricut’s offering.
  • Execute to the quality of top consumer brands such as Apple and Google Nest.

Qualifications

  • Deep passion for design problem solving and a strong conceptual thinker.
  • Exceptional portfolio, demonstrating visual design executed to a very high level of impact and refinement.
  • Keen attention to detail and a passion for simplifying complicated systems. 
  • Experience working collaboratively, in a user-centered way, with interaction designers, user researchers and developers.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly express the thinking behind design solutions.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing for consumer-facing software applications on iOS, Android and Windows platforms.
  • Experience using interaction patterns and design systems, including familiarity with iOS and Material Design guidelines and the ability to extend them based on user needs.
  • A clear fit within a culture focused on team success over individual accolades, you value teamwork, candor, honesty, and integrity.
  • A systems approach to problem solving, where you approach every project in its totality rather than as individual pieces of execution.
  • Deep expertise with Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch. Familiarity with Zeplin, InVision, or other prototyping tools a plus.
  • Expertise in typography, UI / UX systems, branded experiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, information design, fine art, or relevant field. Graduate degree is a plus.
