Job Description

Cricut is looking to add a Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) to its team.  This position is first and foremost meant to be an inspiring leader and an evangelist of the company’s culture. The position will also direct and lead Cricut’s talent and organizational development.   

This position reports to the CEO and will be a key senior leader in the organization. We want candidates who have the heart of a coach, “geek out” over leadership, are inspiring and fun, pragmatic, personable, and able to help leaders thoughtfully build world-class teams. This person needs the ability to think strategically,while attending to important details. This person should also have a solid HR background with a willingness to think about HR in new ways. Qualifications

  • Leadership geek 

  • Proven experience as VP of HR or other senior leadership roles 

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. 

  • Advanced knowledge of HR functions (talent management, recruitment, benefits, compliance etc.) 

  • Ability to use metrics and analytics. Leading the change management that ensures analytics usage that achieves business outcomes 

  • Knowledge of local and international labor law 

  • Skilled in communication and public speaking 

  • 4 out of 5 people would describe you as a “nice” person 

  • Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities 

  • BSc/BA in business, rock climbing, HR, social sciences or related field; MSc/MA/MBA is preferable 

  • Certification (e.g. PHR/SPHR) is nice-to-have 

Responsibilities

  • Evangelize Cricut’s culture and coordinate global HR, recruitment and company culture practices as we transition into a larger organization 

  • Be a coach, partner and confidant to the leadership, HR, and recruitment teams  

  • Direct and evaluate the work of the HR and recruitment teams 

  • Be able to recognize amazing talent throughout the recruiting process while also detecting low-performers and brilliant jerks 

  • Develop a thoughtful performance management practice that coaches and motivates 

  • Direct the development of training and organizational development programs 

  • Oversee and evaluate the administration of benefit programs 

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to compensation programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and competitive salary levels necessary to attract and retain talent  

  • Evaluate departmental procedures to streamline and/or automate processes, planning and implementing changes as required  

  • Recommends and oversees the development of policies and procedures within the organization and ensures they comply with legal regulations and best practices 

  • Oversee the development of a thoughtful employee experience journey 

  • Analyze the effectiveness of HR-related metrics and make data driven decisions 

  • Prepare reports for the CEO and Leadership Team using business metrics and KPIs 

  • Effectively mitigate escalated employment issues and manage conflict professionally
