Job Description

Come help us herd cats!  We are growing fast.  We need someone who is great at getting stuff done with positivity and enthusiasm and  can creatively help address the legal issues that confront a growing tech company.  And yes, we are a tech company – not just a crafting or scrapbook company.   You will help ensure that company operates well within the bounds of the law, assist counsel on legal issues, and create systems that act as an effective guardian of the organization. Come help us grow a cool business that genuinely cares about the consumer – cares about making great products – cares about its own culture and way of working – and cares about doing business in the right way.   Experience is important, but we will prioritize someone is smart, hardworking, willing to learn, and fun to work with over simply experience.   

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively and enthusiastically engage with legal projects for a growing tech company.
  • Understand and evangelize Cricut’s values and culture.
  • Collaboratively establish, and maintain a marketing “playbook” for packaging, emails, and web content.
  • Be versed in packaging requirements, marketing claim law, or be able to undertake a quick study of these. 
  • Create processes and systems to quickly answer frequent internal legal questions. 
  • Work with counsel on identifying various domestic and international product regulatory requirements.
  • Assist counsel in establishing systems for compliance with vendor and retailer complex contracts.   
  • Maintaining a compliance database for third parties.
  • Communicate and process data with various other external and internal sources (e.g. laboratories, international counsel, etc…).
  • Be ready for changes in responsibility and structure attendant to a growing company.
  • Work on other special projects, as directed by attorneys.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (Required)
  • Not a jerk.  Be hardworking, smart, and fun to work with.
  • Good bedside manner. 
  • Get stuff done.
  • At least 5 years experience, with a preference for firm and in-house experience.
  • Experience in a global company.  Consumer product experience a plus. 
  • Experience working in the compliance function
