Job Description

We’re looking for a stellar consumer insights research manager to lead the insights function at Cricut, overseeing the development and execution of all consumer insights responsibilities.  You will have the opportunity to translate the excitement and needs of our consumers into recommendations for marketing strategies and new products, further expanding the growth of our brand. You will play a key role in shaping how we approach bringing new products to market and how we drive penetration of our brand across the DIY, Home Décor and craft category.

As a Consumer Insights Manager, you’ll create the research agenda for all new products. You also will partner with the product managers to help define product requirements, positioning/messaging, and the go-to-market strategy as well as lead all research from concept to execution. Once launched, you will work with the team to define and execute new owner tracking post launch.

You will own all consumer segmentation work and lead the effort to translate insights into marketing strategies. You play a key role in understanding consumers barriers to entry and partnering with the marketing team members identify solutions to expand the brand. You will be responsible for defining and executing Cricut’s annual research agenda including: prioritizing research studies, leading focus groups & ethographies, developing questionnaires, programming surveys, analyzing data from qualitative & quantitative studies, producing final reports, and aligning the team on recommendations.

You must have at least 7 years of related consumer insights experience, an exceptional record of identifying new opportunities, defining innovative products, and leading teams. You should possess a deep knowledge of translating consumer insights into business strategies. This role will demand both tactical and strategic thinking, as well as strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related field; an MBA is a plus
  • 7+ years of marketing strategy and/or consumer insights experience
  • Expertise in consumer insights – experience in setting the research agenda and then executing qualitative and quantitative studies; understand a range of market research methodologies and their applications
  • Passion for innovation – a strong track record of delivering innovative product experiences
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, start-up environment and do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Passion for the consumer – desire to really get to know the consumer, translating the consumer needs into product requirements and experiences
  •  Excellent communication skills – demonstrated use of written, presentation and verbal skills to drive team enthusiasm for products and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Working at all levels – proven ability to drive strategic thinking about the product direction as well as focus on the executional details
  • Team player – build strong relationships with the cross-functional team while serving as the team lead to drive results
  • Data-driven decisions – know how to get and analyze data to make business decisions, balancing thoughtful research with the need for timeliness
