Job Description

This junior level position reports to the AR/AP Manager and is responsible for performing account reconciliations, review and dispute customer fines, shortage and damage claims, review customer contracts to ensure compliance, and other projects and analysis as required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Chargeback Compliance. Review incoming fines, working with internal departments, carriers and 3PL partner to determine if the fines are valid. Create disputes and reconcile paybacks or issue credits to resolve outstanding fines. Review customer routing and compliance guides to understand reasons for fines and work to reduce/eliminate. Work with 3PL to pass along fines incurred because of their errors.

Damage and Shortage Claims. Review incoming claims for defective merchandise or shortages, working with internal departments, carriers and 3PL partner to determine if the shortages are valid. Create disputes and reconcile paybacks or issue credits to resolve outstanding shortages.

General Contract Compliance. Review, understand and ensure invoicing and general compliance as outlined in customer contracts, routing guides and compliance manuals. Maintain updated contracts, guides and manuals.

New Account Implementation. Work with Operations, Sales, product managers, 3PL, IT and customers during the new account implementation process. Including review and overall understanding of customer contracts, routing guides and compliance manuals, to ensure future compliance as outlined.

New Account Setup & Customer Master. Own and maintain customer master data in SAP, entering all new accounts, account changes and updates.

Accounts Receivable Backup. Train and act as back up for AR Specialist, responsibilities include: Daily invoicing, receiving and applying payments, reconciling accounts, collections, resolve payment issues, review orders that are being held for credit purposes and work with customer service, sales, and operations departments to resolve order issues.

Qualifications

Education
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required.

Technical Skills and Prior Experience
Two to three years of prior experience with accounts receivable or dispute management.

Computer and System Experience
Must be computer proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with SAP or another ERP system a plus. Must have intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.

Personal and Supervisory Skills
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required. Must possess the ability to multi-task, self-motivate, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines. Can work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
