Job Description

At Chamberlain University, our mission is clear: to educate, empower, and expand the healthcare workforce to improve outcomes nationwide. As we continue to grow and innovate, we are seeking a highly strategic Executive Assistant to support the President of Chamberlain University—a role that sits at the center of executive decision-making and institutional impact.

This is not a traditional administrative role. This is a true business partner position, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and excels at supporting a remote executive leader with evolving priorities, high visibility, and broad organizational influence.

Temp-to-Perm Note:
This role is structured as a temporary to permanent opportunity, with an expected conversion to a full-time position within approximately 3 to 6 months based on business needs and individual performance. This is an opportunity to make an immediate impact while building toward a long-term career with Chamberlain University.

What You’ll Do

As a trusted partner to the President, you will operate as an extension of leadership—bringing clarity, structure, and forward-thinking execution to a highly dynamic environment:

  • Anticipate & Align: Act as a proactive thought partner, anticipating needs and aligning priorities to drive the President’s highest-impact work
  • Own Executive Time: Strategically manage and continuously recalibrate a complex, evolving calendar across time zones and competing priorities
  • Navigate Ambiguity: Bring structure and clarity to shifting priorities, incomplete information, and fast-moving decisions
  • Support a Remote Executive: Seamlessly coordinate across a distributed environment, ensuring connectivity, responsiveness, and effectiveness
  • Drive Meeting Excellence: Prepare, synthesize, and follow through on executive meetings—including leadership, cross-functional, and Board-level engagements
  • Synthesize & Simplify: Turn inputs from multiple channels into clear, actionable insights and next steps
  • Manage Critical Communications: Draft, refine, and coordinate high-level communications and materials with professionalism and discretion
  • Act as a Strategic Liaison: Interface with senior leaders, faculty, and external stakeholders with strong executive presence
  • Identify & Solve: Proactively identify risks, gaps, and inefficiencies—and take action to resolve or escalate
  • Partner Across EA Network: Collaborate closely with other Covista executive assistants to ensure seamless alignment across Chamberlain and broader enterprise priorities with Covista
  • Lead Special Projects: Contribute to enterprise initiatives with agility, ownership, and a solutions-oriented mindset

Why This Role

This is a unique opportunity to work at the highest level of Chamberlain University’s leadership team, directly supporting the President and influencing priorities that shape the future of healthcare education.

In this role, you’ll gain:

  • Direct exposure to executive decision-making and institutional strategy
  • Meaningful involvement in high-impact, mission-driven work
  • Experience operating in a high-visibility, fast-paced leadership environment
  • Partnership with a remote, highly engaged executive leader
  • The opportunity to convert to a long-term role based on performance and impact
  • A collaborative, high-performing Executive Assistant network

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 8+ years of experience supporting senior executives, including C-suite leaders
  • Proven ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, bringing structure and clarity while supporting a remote executive leader
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to operate independently and proactively drive work forward
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience leveraging technology and AI tools to drive efficiency (preferred)
