Job Description

Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences

Location: Remote (Preference for South Florida)  |  Reports to: Dean, Ross University School of Medicine

Lead clinical education at scale—and help future physicians thrive.

At Ross University School of Medicine, clinical training is where classroom learning becomes patient-centered practice. We’re hiring an Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences to elevate the Years 3–4 experience across a broad network of clinical sites—driving quality, consistency, and outstanding outcomes for students.

This is a high-impact leadership role for an MD educator/administrator who enjoys building strong site partnerships, strengthening curriculum integration, and guiding teams through continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate closely with the Dean, Student Affairs, and operational leaders to ensure an exceptional clinical education experience while meeting accreditation and state licensing requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all clinical rotations at all sites.
  • Appoint all clinical chairs, clerkship directors, and clinical managers at all sites.
  • Manage faculty and site performance and review.
  • Partner with VP of Operations on procurement of clinical sites for student education.
  • Be responsible for quality assurance of educational programs at all sites.
  • Partner with Associate Dean of Student Affairs on escalated student issues at clinical sites.
  • Guide processes related to clerkship placement and clinical advising.
  • Ensure the clinical curriculum and supplemental education material is in place and work with the Dean to ensure clinical integration in Years 1 and 2 curriculum.
  • Work with Covista home office areas such as Legal and Compliance on RUSM regulatory standards and submissions for accreditation and state licensing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • MD degree with current licensure and board certification.
  • Advanced degree in education preferred.
  • 5 years of experience as an administrator/educator in Clinical Sciences in a North American medical school with senior-level administrative experience in clinical sciences is required.
  • A demonstrated record of leadership, management, and resource development in a medical school.
  • Demonstrated transformational leadership skills and an ability to effectively manage organizational change; and, demonstrated working knowledge of issues related to student conduct and academic integrity.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equal opportunity and promotion of student engagement and learning; comprehensive knowledge of student development and current trends in student success.
  • Critical skills include excellent communication abilities, interpersonal sensitivity, time management and prudent judgment.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $208210.69 and $331083.15. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
