The Courtyard Pittsburgh North at Cranberry Woods is the newest addition to the Cranberry Woods Business park. We are now open and growing! This proud member of the Marriott family of hotels is seeking individuals that love to clean. We are seeking both full time and part time employees, and are willing to train on the job.

Job Description

  • Follows recipe cards and/or product specifications for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food for consumption in an eating establishment.
  • Food preparation will include operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, trimming and cutting meat, poultry and fish for use.  Operates a variety of kitchen equipment i.e. choppers, mixing machines, slicers, steamers, grill, etc.
  • Controls food waste, loss and usage per WHG policies and procedures.  (Assists in setting plans and actions to correct any food cost problems.)
  • Maintains standards of sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen, restaurant utensils, equipment, and the kitchen area.  Practices “clean as you go” method, which requires that all equipment and all areas are kept in an orderly and sanitary condition at all times.
  • Check pars for shift use, determines necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up.  Notes any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
  • Cooks orders per guest ticket from server.  Assists in the preparation, production and service of food for Banquet and Associate functions.
  • Assists in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift.
  • Assists in storing food when any deliveries arrive.  Dates and rotates all food containers as required.
  • At appropriate time, starts break down and cleaning of cook’s line and any other necessary work stations.  Completes breakdown at close of business.
  • Checks conditions of area and equipment and notifies manager of areas that need attention.
  • Able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds and is able to stock items on shelves above eye level.
  • Has a thorough knowledge of emergency and life safety procedures, and follows all key control procedures.
  • Provides the highest quality of service to guests at all times and practices each item on the WHG pledge card.
  • Wears proper uniform and name tag at all times in accordance with the standards of personal appearance guidelines in the WHG handbook.
  • Performs all other duties deemed necessary by management.


Qualifications

1 year of prior experience required.
