The Program Coordinator will support the management and implementation of CSWE Initiatives and related projects. Specifically, the Program Coordinator will provide administrative assistance and management over the Substance Use Disorder Scholars Program and CSWE’s Minority Fellowship Program departmental initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities include coordination of Substance Use Disorder Scholars Program and MFP-related recruitment,[KS1] [LS2] [LS3] [HD4]  education, professional development, and workforce capacity building initiatives for BSW and MSW scholars related to four primary goals and duties:

Goal 1: Support the increase of the number of social work and interdisciplinary professionals prepared to provide mental health and/or substance use disorder services to racial and ethnic minority populations.

Goal 2: Support the increase of students’ knowledge and skills about issues related to mental health and substance use disorders among racial and ethnic minority populations.

Goal 3: Support initiatives to strengthen the capacity of mental health and/or substance use disorder workforce in delivering culturally competent services to the target population.

Goal 4: Support Field Instructors through professional development opportunities as they work to sustain and strengthen a holistic field-experience for students, that encompasses the core competencies designated in the 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Duties include the following, as well as other duties and special projects assigned by the Centers Initiatives Program Associate.[GU5] 

o   Provide administrative support to subrecipients in planning cohort meetings and regularly scheduled check-ins on how the subrecipients are supporting scholars.

o   Review subrecipients requests and follow up with grant sub-recipients to ensure grant requirements are met.

o   Provide logistical and administrative coordination for the MFP Program and IMFP Program.

o   Manage data and maintain records in the designated systems (i.e., Submittable, Qualtrics, Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, etc.)

o   Run and maintain data related to MFP and IMFP-specific reports (i.e., audits for financial records and grant submissions, etc.)

o   Assist with processing grants awarded to subrecipients, including establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with subrecipients

o   Collaborate on the submission of information for CSWE website, SPARK and other communication tools

o   Communicate training information to scholars, volunteer, and staff

o   Support the production of MFP publications, reports, and recruitment materials

o   Coordinate APM attendance for MFP fellows (i.e., registration, flight, lodging, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Minimum four-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience preferably in a national membership association and/or social work
  • Experience required: Minimum 2 years’ experience providing administrative support and/or event coordination for educational programs and/or meeting planning, database management, and volunteer management
  • Ability to travel to out-of-town meetings, specifically APM annual meeting and other education events, as needed  
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • High level of initiative and ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Experience with scheduling events, webinars and/or other web-based events through a learning management system
  • Prefer experience in website maintenance and HTML

  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position is primarily sedentary and is performed in an office setting. The physical demands of this position are limited to the ability to use a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment; move up to 25 lbs.; move articles used in program activities. Occasional travel within the United States may be necessary.
