The Program Associate supports the management and implementation of education and programs on a part-time basis and will coordinate activities related to CSWE’s education and professional development initiatives, primarily, educational sessions at the Annual Program Meeting (APM) within the Department of Member Engagement and Professional Development. 

The position will be expected to assist the Director of Member Engagement and Professional Development (and department staff) and the Director of Meetings and Events in the implementation of initiatives that connect CSWE members with the organization and each other, and help grow their career through professional development, presentation, and service opportunities. 

 

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsibilities include coordination of education offerings for CSWE members for the Annual Program Meeting (APM), including the APM acceptance process, scheduling, and coordination of CSWE Commission and council activities related to the APM.  

Duties include the following, as well as other duties and special projects assigned by the Director of Professional Development as needed. 

Annual Program Meeting (APM) 

  • Runs reports (i.e., audits for duplicate titles/proposals, speaker role limits, incomplete proposals) 

  • Coordinate with track chairs to finalize presentation groupings in Cadmium, event management system 

  • Assist Logistics Coordinator complete APM session schedule (including electronic/technology-enhanced versions) 

  • Support Logistics Coordinator collect descriptions for each session, session title, speakers’ information, and bios 

  • Coordinate and finalize presenter tasks 

  • Coordinate commission and council awards process. Includes working with CSWE staff liaisons to finalize awardees, collect speaker bios/photos, and order plaques 

Other Education Events 

Assists with other assigned program support activities in the Department of Member Engagement and Professional Development, including but not limited to: 

  • Coordinate education and planning committee meetings, assist with meeting related materials 

  • Work with conference planning platforms (i.e., Cadmium, Submittable) 

  • Participate and coordinate regular departmental meetings and provide updates, as needed 

  • Monitor CSWE APM related inboxes 

Qualifications

  • Minimum four-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience preferably in a national membership association and/or social work 

  • Experience required: Minimum 2 years’ experience providing administrative support and/or event coordination for educational programs and/or meeting planning, database management, and volunteer management 

  • Ability to travel to out-of-town meetings, specifically APM annual meeting and other education events 

  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. 

  • Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) 

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Strengthen CSWE’s climate for antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

  • High level of initiative and ability to multitask 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Experience with production of webinars and/or other web-based events through a learning management system 

  • Experience with certification or continuing education programs desirable. 

  • Prefer experience in website maintenance and HTML

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

  • May be required to use a computer screen for extended periods of time 

  • This position is primarily sedentary and is performed in an office setting.

  • The physical demands of this position are limited to the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop, and carry articles used in program activities. Position requires the ability to speak audibly; listen actively; and use computers, telephones, and other office equipment.

  • Periodic out-of-town travel is required.

  • Attendance at and/or support of meetings and events outside of normal working hours and may include evenings and/or weekends.
