Job Description

Teams within Product Design and Development work to create the future of marine, automotive, and aerospace through mold building and advanced composites.

This opportunity is responsible for designing products using computer-aided design software applications. Designs products, creates and tests prototypes, and oversees other CAD positions, production processes, three-dimensional digitizer equipment, and computer controlled (CNC) machines including CNC tube-bending, CNC material cutting machines and large scale FDM 3D printing machines.

We offer a competitive salary as well as bonus for the right candidate. This is an 8 - 5 shift, Mon - Fri.

· Perform engineering work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining and upgrading CAD models.

· Design, develop and engineer high quality models using 3D and 2D CAD tools.

· Update and maintain product design files.

· Determine limitations, assumptions and solutions in the design and development of CAD models.

· Bring concept illustrations and clay models to real scale digital data.

· Create visual renderings and technical drawings to be reviewed.

· Create specification drawings for prototyping and manufacturing of new products.

· Work collaboratively to solve problems with manufacturing team members.

· Carry out metrology studies and analysis on physical parts and models.

 

Qualifications

· Technical Degree/Certification or 4+ years of professional experience in CAD

· 4+ years in design and problem solving.

· Experienced in additive manufacturing slicer softwares such as Ultimaker Cura or PrusaSlicer.

· Experience with 3D part, surface, and assembly modeling preferably with SolidWorks. However, Rhino 7, Siemens NX, and Onshape are also acceptable.

· Experience with 2D drawing software and creation of Bill of Materials, using Rhino, SolidWorks, etc.

· Strong CAD skills to analyze, organize and program files for CNC equipment such as: .dwg., .dxf., etc.

· Team-oriented mind set with exceptional organizational and administrative skills.

· Experienced with 2D CNC Machining preferred.

· Experience with 3D Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) additive manufacturing.

· Understanding of composite manufacturing methods.

· Understanding and experience of 3D metrology studies and analysis

· Manufacturing experience a plus
