Job Description

We offer Monday to Friday the first shift, 5:30 am - 4 pm. Overtime may be required at times based on the needs of the business. This is a full-time opportunity, working in the Small Parts department of our manufacturing plant. The right individual will learn to do various jobs in this department, such as infusion molding, waxing, cleaning, cutting fiberglass, and maintaining the molds that help create the best Quality boats around. We will teach you to sand and buff the molds while drilling holes and laminating. If you are eager to work with your hands, this position is for you. You will prep the mold for infusion, including buffing and laying the pre-cut fiberglass onto the mold to make it ready for cutting. Each mold must be covered and gel-coated properly and prepared for infusion. This is an important step in the production of the Nautique Boats.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving and prepping the mold for infusion. Requires buffing and laying pre-cut.
  • Fiberglass onto the mold to make it ready for cutting.
  • Responsible for securing fiberglass and cutting to fit the pre-cut fiberglass to ensure proper distribution and covering of mold is complete.
  • Responsible for ensuring molds are gel coated properly and ready for infusion.
  • Responsible for making sure the part is ready to move on to production.
  • Be able to eliminate bubbles in fiberglass once it has been applied.
  • Follow the instruction of the Supervisor/foreman/lead
  • Be able to use small hand tools, including scissors, razor knife, etc.
  •  Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Work with a team to complete daily tasks.
  • Light sanding of parts when necessary.
  • Inspects all parts so that they are complete and up to quality standards.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.

  • Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc).
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control.

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats.
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
  • The ability to see details at a close range.
  • Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc)
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
