Job Description

Indmar Marine Engines is seeking a punctual, dependable, and quality-focused individual to join our Maintenance Team.

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance and repairs of all facets of Indmar’s facilities including buildings, grounds, and industrial machinery and equipment. The technician ensures systems and equipment functions properly through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance service. Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics are required and must have working knowledge of hand and power tools; candidates without these requirements will not be considered. A minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar maintenance technician role is required. This is a fast-paced work environment which requires great attention to detail.

This full-time position offers a starting rate of $22.00 - 26.00/hour depending upon experience with a consistent daytime schedule. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off and a retirement savings plan with a company match. Punctuality and good attendance are crucial to success in this positionWork hours are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Eligible for a $40.00 weekly attendance bonus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform routine building maintenance tasks related to carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing.

2. Paint, remodel and refurbish areas as needed.

3. Troubleshoot and maintain all equipment to include but is not limited to conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment.

4. Identify faulty parts or equipment through observation and testing.

5. Work with the Maintenance Manager to order parts and perform repairs in a timely manner.

6. Safely operate power tools, hand tools, hoists, forklift, and other necessary equipment.

7. Maintain inventory of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies.

8. Update maintenance log system regularly and accurately.

9. Keep a safe and clean work environment by complying with all rules, procedures, and regulations.

10. Maintain mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading.

11. Communicate effectively with management providing regular status updates on repairs or installations.

12. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

1. Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics.

2. Basic understanding of electrical systems and CNC equipment.

3. Working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite.

4. Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools.

5. Physically able to stand, stoop and squat for extended periods of time as well as lift and carry 50 lbs.

6. Team player with a desire to be productive with minimal supervision.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills.

8. Good communication skills including verbal and written.

9. Must be able to work at a fast pace with high attention to detail.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

1. High School graduate or GED.

2. Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or similar secondary education is strongly preferred.

3. A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a maintenance technician

4. Experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment is preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Constant noise from machinery. Standing, squatting, all day when working on conveyor manufacturing operations and other industrial equipment.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Safety glasses, hearing protection and various specialized PPE based on the task.
