Job Description

Gunrunner - Sprays layers of fiberglass and resin to hull, deck and small part molds. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to identify the different hull, deck and small part molds to be laminated.
  • Be able to use a fiberglass gun.
  • Follow instructions of the Supervisor/foreman/lead
  • Be able to use small hand tools including scissors, razor knives, etc.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Inspects all parts so that they are complete and up to quality standards.
  • Work with a team to complete daily tasks
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must be flexible and willing to cross-train within the department
  • Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Tools used in this occupation include but are not limited to:

  • Personal Protective Equipment- Safety Glasses, half-mask respirator, Tyvek protection suit.
  • Fiberglass chop gun, sanders, and scissors.
  • Working directly with fiberglass and resin.
  • Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools.
  • Some Knowledge of FRP and composites.
  • Be able to complete basic installations.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience include but is not limited to:

  • Must be able to work effectively as an individual or with a team. Be able to use and maintain a variety of hand tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a non climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats.
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment, including a respirator, when necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
