Job Description

Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the quality supervisor will lead the Quality Inspectors working in production. The supervisor will be responsible for safety, quality, production, administrative tasks, and improvements for the department. This includes managing the inspectors’ time and career path, and meeting with the inspectors regularly as a team and as individuals. Along with the quality manager, the supervisor will help guide the team to accomplish the Nautique Quality strategic plan and vision, to improve the Nautique boats' overall quality. The quality supervisor needs to demonstrate strong leadership abilities and skills.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manages operations in his/her area to ensure the safe and timely completion of production schedules or department work by effectively utilizing people, equipment, and material. This includes coordination of time and production records and ensuring that job assignments and work are set up for employees in the department.
  • Work closely with production leadership, manufacturing engineering, product design and development, and warranty team to minimize defects
  • Ensuring quality inspectors follow and comply with all company policies, including Safety, Processes, Time regulation
  • Continually works on process improvement and department efficiency
  • Ensures daily QITs within production run smoothly and are value-added
  • Communicates with other supervisors or managers as needed to coordinate activities of respective departments or areas.
  • Drive the quality department vision and strategic plan, as well as overall company objectives.

Knowledge, Education and or Experience required:

  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and direct the work of others, and delegate as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information. This includes, but is not limited to: performance, illness, investigations and personal information.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
  • Strong analytical skills and competence in Microsoft office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Ability to learn the quality system database (Aims) and be highly proficient in entering information, manipulating information, running reports, and organizing data to provide to internal customers’ to help drive improvement

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
