Job Description

Paint surfaces of multiple substrates, using spray painting equipment and work aids, utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques.
Mix paint according to manufacturer, Axalta,  and customer specifications
Control and manage inventory for all paint products, booth filters, and painting equipment.
Clean and prepare part surfaces as specified prior to painting to assure the parts are contamination free
Inspect parts prior to work for needed repair, prepping and cleaning
Masking parts prior to paint
Inspect parts after painting for needed repairs and proper thickness/appearance
Sand, mask, blend and polish finish to match surrounding areas
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or team lead
Operate spray booth and ventilation system per specific instructions
Data collection (time trials, paint usage ect.)
Report to management on quality and safety concerns
Work closely with fabrication and hydro-graphic departments on production workflow and paint related solutions.
Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials
 

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous work-related experience or understanding of process is usually needed.
• Knowledge of painting equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of measurements required

Knowledge of automotive grade paint preferred.
