Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for providing management, planning, direction, organization, monitoring and compliance of the roles, activities and proceedings of all assigned manufacturing and supply chain personnel to ensure the successful, cost effective, timely and safe processing of customer orders. Serve as a company representative with both internal and external customers. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures and process controls to manage and plan production activities to ensure schedules and business objectives are achieved.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices to support strategic objectives.
  • Sourcing and purchasing of materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
  • Work with leadership and peers to interpret financial data for the use of improving profitability.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs to ensure the highest level of quality is maintained.
  • Manage production planning and scheduling to ensure operational goals are achieved.   
  • Optimizing employee production and material efficiency through continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Working closely with internal partners including shipping, sales, engineering, quality, operations, and customer service to troubleshoot problem areas and confirm production needs are met.
  • Providing daily direction, coaching, and leadership to crew supervisors/leads to ensure department alignment with operational strategies and culture.
  • Develop weekly and monthly KPI reporting procedures to communicate progress to leadership and operations team.
  • Maintaining and promoting a safe work environment by ensuring employees are following safety protocols consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Auditing and approving hours in the time keeping system.
  • Playing a key role in implementation of new processes, equipment, and products.
  • Leading the advancement and implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives in the department.
  • Assisting with recruitment, training, employee development.

Preferred Knowledge, Education, and or Experience:  

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5-10 years experience in the direct area responsible
  • +2 years direct management experience in a medium to fast-paced manufacturing/operations environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or other process improvement certification with a lean manufacturing experience would be a plus

  • Fluent in the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-starter who takes a proactive approach and has good decision making skills.
  • Must be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)
