Job Description

The Quality Systems Engineer works closely with Operations to ensure that all quality processes are efficient and thorough.  They are responsible for the processes being followed at each inspection point and the content of these inspections. They work to find creative and efficient ways to improve quality in production while exceeding customer expectations. They are also responsible for maintaining and improving the quality database, analyzing data, and providing relevant information to each department on quality opportunities. Daily responsibility is focused on but not limited to safety, quality, manufacturing, model integration, and supporting strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and track standard quality inspections occurring throughout the facility
  • Determine useful performance indicators to track in production and what methods will be used to track these indicators.
  • Establish efficient quality audit processes
  • Work with design and engineering to determine quality specifications
  • Communicate with internal warranty and product dealers to understand customer expectations
  • Provide easy and clear quality standards and expectations to production
  • Coordinate mitigation plans for quality issues internally
  • Consider corrective actions requirements for internal issues in production
  • Provide useful data to Operations and Quality departments as needed
  • Maintain, update, and improve AIMS Quality System software
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing and quality processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements, develop creative solutions, and implement them with the production teams
  • Create processes and procedures to help Nautique meet strategic goals
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaboration
  • Define and design component specifications for mechanical systems in manufacturing
  • Play a key role in implementing new processes, equipment, and products.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Education, and or Experience Preferred:

  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related Technical field
  • 2-5 years of relevant quality experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Some lean manufacturing experience
  • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, decisive, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
