POSITION SUMMARY

The Custodian is responsible for keeping interior of buildings clean and organized. To be a successful Custodian, you must be able to perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks that require stamina, an eagerness to learn on the job, and great attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline.

Essential Duties | responsibilities

·        Clean and maintain restrooms at offices and production areas.

·        Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs windows and walls.

·        Disinfect commonly used surfaces, tables, door handles, and large office                             equipment.

·        Vacuum, sweep and mop all floors.

·        Empty trash & recycle bins and replace with new trash bags for all offices,                           breakrooms, and restrooms.

·        Stock and maintain supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning liquids and           hand soap

·        Work well independently and be a self-starter

·        Any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications | Education requirements

·         High School Diploma or Equivalent

·         One or more years of experience as a janitor or custodian.

·         Must be able to perform tasks under time deadlines.

·         Must have strong attention to detail.

·         Able to understand and follow verbal and written directions.

·         Knowledge of various cleaning products and when & where to use them.

Physical requirements

·         Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air                    temperature can exceed outside air temperature.

·         Requires walking, bending, or twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying,                      grasping

·         Must be able to bend at waist, knees and stand for extended periods of time.

·         Must be able to properly lift up to 50 pounds.

·         Must be able to wear proper safety equipment to include respirator when necessary.

·         Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
