Job Description

Summary:

The Electrical Project Engineer is directly responsible for ensuring accurate component specifications in the design and development of products and any other duties that would be assigned. The primary function is the design and testing of marine DC electrical systems. The secondary function is to assist with other electrical and software projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 12V DC Electrical System Layout and Design
  • Create electrical harness drawings using CAD software
  • Ensure marine electrical systems meet Coast Guard and ABYC requirements
  • Test and validate prototype electrical components to ensure function and reliability
  • Software Development including software configuration management, release planning, Android/iOS ap development and database maintenance
  • Graphical User Interface Programming
  • Write software to integrate dynamic systems that use the J1939 / NMEA2000 protocol
  • Electronics Hardware Development
  • Work with vendor(s) to define requirements and system performance
  • Custom PCB Layout and Design

Qualifications

Essential:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming languages
  • Product design/requirement specification
  • Experience creating technical drawings and documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • High attention to detail/strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

Preferred:

  • Marine manufacturing or boating industry experience
