Job Description

The Field Service Technician provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches; manages all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks; and diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions. A few of the main duties of a field service technician are troubleshooting the equipment, advising the customer on how to use the equipment, building relationships with customers, and following company procedures.

  • All positions are safety sensitive. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by an employer, in which a person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana may constitute a threat to health or safety.
    • Qualified candidates will be asked to submit to drug testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Document processes
  • Operate vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systems
  • Follow all company’s field procedures and protocols
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
  • Build positive relationships with customers
  • Demonstrate how to use the equipment
  • Respond quickly to customer problems
  • Advise customers on the equipment
  • Make equipment recommendations to customers
  • Travel away from home (sometimes for long periods)
  • Perform other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.

 Qualifications:

  • Proven field service experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
  • Ability to diagnose problems with equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Communication skills to work with customers
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license/insurability
  • A technical degree is preferable

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel to work
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
