Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with other engineers, production managers, Quality Control and Product Design and Development teams to help streamline processes. They are responsible for developing creative and efficient ways to make better products and improve processes. Daily responsibility is focused on but not limited to safety, quality, manufacturing, model integration and supporting strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements, develop creative solutions, and implement with the production teams
  • Coordinate problem solving activities on the floor using multi-department resources
  • Establish operational methods and work standards using various work measurement techniques
  • Analyze existing operations and propose cost justified improvements
  • Lead the advancement and implementation of lean manufacturing activities in production
  • Generate production carts, jigs, fixtures, engineering models, drawings and bills of material
  • Optimize employee production and material efficiency through continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
  • Working CAD knowledge
  • Experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Strong lean manufacturing experience particularly in continuous improvement, elimination of waste, 5S, Kaizen events, value stream mapping and visual management
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strategic mindset with solid technical and analytical skills
  • Experience in presenting to large groups and cross functional teams
