Job Description

Job Details:  The hours for this position are 5:30am – 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday. This is an hourly (non-exempt) position, with an entry level rate of pay starting between $13 - $15 per hour depending upon experience. Overtime may be required at times based on the needs of the business. There is an opportunity to earn a performance increase after 90 days of employment.

The Laminator works in our manufacturing facility and performs mix and lay-up of fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto a boat mold surface. They use a roller to apply the initial layers of  fiberglass, or other resins on boat molds to form decks and hulls. The job also requires using a variety of power tools and hand tools. This position requires working closely with a team while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, chemical resistance aprons, and chemical resistant suits.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs mix and lay-up of fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools
  • Works with various resins, fiberglass materials, and structural adhesives
  • Operates a variety of power tools including but not limited to scissors, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists
  • Locates parts by hand or by utilizing detailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and/or fixtures
  • Identify various hulls and decks that are to be laminated
  • Use rollers to release air bubbles, smooth seams, and correct any other blemishes in the fibergla
  • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include respirators, gloves, chemical resistance aprons, and chemical resistant suits
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Prior experience using hand tools and pneumatic (air) tools.
  • Ability to work a 10-hour shift standing, bending, reaching
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, noisy environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime both planned and unplanned to meet company goals
  • Must follow all safety standards and procedures
  • Must adhere to all quality standards
  • Must demonstrate record of dependability and reliability with prior work experience
  • Must be able to work well with teams in close proximity with each other
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
  • Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools

Desired Qualifications

  • Skills in fiberglass and resin preferred
  • Prior experience working in construction, especially painting and prep work, or auto body repair/painting preferred
