Job Description

Job Description:  Fabrication of various metal parts by using different types of metal altering machines such as punch presses, drill presses, milling centers, manual lathes, CNC lathes, saws, iron worker, shear, etc…..

Key Responsibilities:

CNC lathe experience required (Mazak preferred) 

Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a machine shop using some of the various equipment listed above. 

Must be able to understand and read blue prints 

Must be able to use different types of measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators, tape measure, etc…. 

Must have machine set up experience such as punch and die set up’s, automated saw set up’s, etc…

Keep work area clean and orderly. 

Follow instruction of Manager/Supervisor/Lead 

Inspects all parts so that they are complete and up to quality standards.    

Qualifications

Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature. 

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing job duties. 

Must be able to wear proper safety equipment at all times while in the machine shop. 

Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary. 

Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate. 

Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. 

Manage one’s own time and respecting the time of others. 

Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Must be able to work effectively as an individual or with a team. 

Must be able to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines. 

Must have strong attention to detail. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. 

The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
